Y-Flyer 1661: Built by Herman Dias about 1964 on Long Island, NY.  This boat was always one of the top contenders.  As I remember, Wayne, the younger of his two sons, was leading the 1967 Junior Nationals, held at Long Island Yacht Club on Great South Bay, until a mechanical cost one race.  To make a long story short - in 1971 the eldest son restored the hull, fitted a new 5 stay mast and went on to win the open handicapped division that year.  The hull has since been retired, but for the most part everything else remains with about 4 to 5 season's total use. The following items are available: 

 

- Sails - Murphy & Nye (Chicago Sail makers) - 5 seasons use - VG condition

- Mast - Gold Alum 5 stay, tapered top, fully rigged 5-6 races - Excellent condition

- Boom - Laminated wood, high profile with out haul winch, and 3 Tuphblox blocks - Good condition

- Center Board - ¼" tempered aircraft alum - VG condition

- Rudder - official design w/tilt-up - Excellent condition

- Rudder - swept back design w/ tilt-up - Excellent condition

- Whisker Poll - Wood with mast yoke - Good condition

- Traveler - Alum beam stands above tiller with roller bearing trolley - Good Condition

- Main Sheet - 5/8" Braided Dacron - VG condition

- Jib Sheet - 5/8" Braided Dacron - G condition - one side has some stains

- Virtually everything from the hull up: chain plates, gooseneck, adjustable front stay and - jib mechanism, swivel main sheet cleat, jib sheet blocks and tracks, etc.

- Also: Ribs and backbone for new wood hull - in storage - had planned on one day building a replacement hull.
