FLOAT PANEL  In the rare event of a capsize, an optional mast head floatation panel (seen in photo at right) usually keeps the Y from turtling, making it easier to right even for one adult or a couple of kids.  For more information or to purchase one, e-mail Chet Turner or phone him at 217-895-3395.

There are many ways to build the Y-Flyer hull.  Leo Banasky has written a book about his method.   It is written to supplement the Plans and the Builders Bulletins which are provided with the Plans.  It is his method of building the wood hull and can be a useful guide for the first time builder.

Y-FLYER ENTHUSIAST CARDS — A great way to keep in touch with prospective sailors. You give them the left half, have them fill out the right and give it to you. Customize with a picture of your boat, name, address, etc. Cost is $5 to set up (you provide the photo or we’ll use a stock one that I have), $1.25 per sheet of 5 cards, and $1 postage. 2002 NATIONALS PHOTOS -- Using the newly purchased Class digital camera, 270 pictures were taken of Y-Flyer sailors on shore, in the harbor, on the race course, and at the awards banquet at the 2002 National Regatta.

All of these pictures in .jpg format have been copied to a CD and can be purchased from the Class for only $5.00 (including postage).
